Alright, I'm bored of this now.

I'm going to be doing a pretty big cut. it's really nothing personal, but I haven't really had the time to read LJ since Friday, so I'm trying to simplify things

I love how it turned out, I think it's one of my best pieces to date. & I actually used different facial expressions!

I feel like I've been treading water for the past 7 years, & I'm tired of it. There's so much I want to do, that I'm worried I'll never get a chance to do

I want to play in the ocean surf, watch whales off the coast, catch fireflies & let them go again, dance under the stars, see the world, turn over rocks & watch the bugs underneath scurry away, watch the sun set & the lights come on over a big city, hunt for four leaf clovers, swim naked under waterfalls, sit overlooking a sprawling landscape & draw what I see, see the northern lights, & so much more....

I basically want life to be one big adventure.

I want to start collecting ATC's, but I'm way too cheap to buy them. Anyone know of any swapping communities (either here or at other webpages) where you can swap pre-made ATCs? (I'm not really interested in getting a whackload of my character, I want to swap pre-made ones)

We're talking about where to go for July 4th, since Rob has it off anyway now.

He mentioned he wanted to go to New York City

My response?

"You probably wouldn't want to drive there. You know Toronto traffic? Multiply that by American"

& just a quick question - who here follows my FA only when I mention uploading something here in my journal?

When making muffins, if the recipe says it'll make 20-ish muffins, don't get lazy & fill 12 cups to the brim.
I have what looks like a cake cooling on my stove, but is in actuality 12 muffins that expanded much more than I was expecting

They're still delicious though. Mmmm, rhubarb XD

I had an awesome day today. Tonia came over, so we all went out exploring
We found a big painted turtle along a path, so I picked it up & took it down by the water & let it go

Then we went & watched clouds, & I found a caterpillar that I let crawl all over my hands for 10 minutes, before I stuck it in a tree


THEN we went down to Zwicks Island, & sat by the water. While we were sitting there, we saw a bunch of baby turtles in the water (well, about 4" long, they weren't baby but they weren't full grown either)
I got my net & was trying to catch them. I got a big (about 10" long) painted turtle & we held him for a few minutes before letting him go back in the water
Then we were sitting around watching the other turtles & Rob said there was a turtle under a piece of wood. he saw it again & thought it was a snake, but then I took a stick & moved the piece of wood & it was actually a snapping turtle :D
So I caught it & held it long enough to get a couple pictures before letting it go

After that I also caught a frog, & a smaller (3" long) turtle :D

& he's actually been returned to me! Hooray! XD

& they actually fixed him! They even gave me a new power adaptor & glued new feets on him (he was missing 2)

I love my laptop XD
I'm sitting in the parking lot, in the van, updating, because Rob's working on putting a new stereo in the van, & I didn't feel like sitting in the apartment - it's too nice outside :)


I got my pricelist done for Anthrocon - it's on my blog
I'm planning on buying a Furaffinity ad after Anthrocon & offering these prices for a month or so. I still have to create an actual small banner, but I know it won't be that hard :) (& I've still got an awesome gif animator program on my other computer)

Rob & I went to the drive-in today, because I wanted to see Drag Me To Hell, & since you get 2 movies, we got to choose between Land of the Lost or The Hangover.
We went & saw The Hangover, because it got an 8.5 out of 10 on IMDB, & we figured even a shitty comedy is still a comedy

it's not bad. I laughed at a few parts, but it was only mildly amusing through most of it.

Drag Me To Hell wasn't bad either. The ending was disappointing, too cliche. Not really all that scary throughout either.

Why are there never any good movies anymore? D:

So I bought guitar hero from a pawnshop yesterday (after figuring out that if I could get a guitar for under $50, I'd save money when Guitar Hero 5 comes out, because I REALLY want it)

So I picked up Legends of Rock (I think) with the guitar for $40. Within 24 hours of getting it, I've already drawn all over it

I've hit a bit of a lul. I know I should be working on commissions, but I'm having a hard time staying motivated enough to get anything done. It doesn't help that I need to start on new pictures, because all the others are about 95% done... I'm sure I'll buckle down after Anthrocon & start working harder on them, building back up my 3 month safety net (I only did 8 of the 16 hours last month, & this month doesn't look like it's shaping up much better)


I'm sure once I get the info I need, I'll be off like a rocket again, as I don't take much time to do any other commissions.
*shrugs*


We told Ang & Tonia the news about Rob's new job, & they both took it really well. Like, better than I expected. Rob started the job yesterday & he seems to enjoy it. It's got health benefits! XD

So I was in the dollar store & I saw 2 kites for a dollar. "That's awesome" I said to Rob "buy me some kites! I love flying kites!"

Oh the naivity of inexperience

So we go down by the water, & I get the first one out of the package. I go outside, & set it free to the wind.
After about 10 tries to keep it off the ground (including one memorable one where it had to be fished out of the water by Rob), it's finally soaring high. I'm starting to realize that flying kites isn't quite as fun as I remembered, but it's still amusing me.

I give it some more slack, to see how high it can go... getting to the end of the spool.... then I realize the cord isn't attached to the spool. I grab at the cord, but it's too late, & the bastard gets free.

It flew about half a mile away, & Rob went running after it because I was too busy laughing & worrying that it was going to hit someone in the head (it didn't)

I'm at the library in Kingston again. I almost didn't go along with Rob (feminine problems, I'll leave it at that...) but I didn't really want to sit around the apartment all week & make Rob drive back & forth 3 times, so here I am. & I forgot to bring a drink, & I'm thirsty :P There's a water fountain out front, but I'm comfy

So, if anyone needs to get ahold of me, I'll be around, but it may take longer for me to reply (I'm only going to be here every other day)
